Anna Leigh Waters Makes History with 168th PPA Title

Headline: Anna Leigh Waters Becomes Winningest Player in PPA Tour History with 168th Career Gold

Pickleball phenom Anna Leigh Waters has just rewritten the record books — she clinched her 168th career gold medal at the PPA Tour, officially surpassing Ben Johns to become the winningest player in PPA history.

This milestone came at the 2025 Jenius Bank Pickleball World Championships, where Waters not only took the women’s singles title (defeating Kate Fahey in a tight final) but also secured her 38th Triple Crown by winning both the mixed and women’s doubles events.

Just weeks earlier at the Rate Vegas Cup, she showed dominant form, dropping only one game all day and claiming her 37th career Triple Crown — her sixth of the 2025 season.

Waters’ consistency and dominance are remarkable: she hasn’t lost a singles match in 529 days, according to PPA Tour reports.

Beyond personal glory, her achievements reflect how competitive (and professional) the sport has become. Every time she wins, she raises the bar and brings more attention to pickleball’s growth.

Why It Matters:

  • Waters’ achievement is a major milestone for women in pro pickleball, showing longevity and sustained excellence.

  • It fuels the narrative that pickleball is no longer just a recreational pastime — it’s a serious, high-level sport.

  • Her success inspires younger players and builds legitimacy for the tour.

What’s Next for Waters:

With her current momentum, Waters is likely to continue breaking more records. Her partnership changes this season (switching partners, etc.) and her already packed 2025 calendar suggest she’s playing not just for titles — but for legacy.
